Cumulus on K2

light as a cloud - on top of the World

K2 - winter 2002/03. Expedition led by Krzysztof Wielicki

K2 is the 2nd highest mountain in the World, and is acknowledged to be the most difficult one to climb, even in summer. Its peak has never been conquered in winter. This expedition also failed to reach the peak due to attrocious weather conditions, failing by just a few hundred feet. The highest level camp at which Cumulus sleeping bags were used was 7630 metres. Cumulus insulated jackets went higher.
